It's been around 2+ years since I have seen an early Morning of Margazhi in Chennai and its neighborhood... A paining flashback of my lost loved ones (that involves Vasan Anna primarily...) hit me when by 6 AM, I came out of my office campus today (thanks to the Go/No-Go decision of our project release and its subsequent ‘late-night waits’) and welcomed with the Margazhi smog-less foggy breeze with the Sun trying to stir-up the chillness and getting beaten consistently…
Yet, it was really a pleasant and soothing experience to ride a bike in such a climate and in a road like BHEL-Connect road to Ashok Nagar (Most of the roads in Chennai at this time, would make us feel comfortable, isn’t it?) and above all the miraculous melody of Music Sage Ilayaraja in my 5310 hands-free, (The no. is ‘putham pudhu kaalai’ from ‘Alaigal oiyvadhillai’). Want a different experience? Try bike-riding in the Chennai roads at this time… Margazhi month is another plus!!

Mylapore Karpagambal Mess - Marvellous!!!
Happened to go to Mylapore for the therapy of my back-pain and I was very keenly advised to have food RITE on time... So, me and my companion (who else, my own sweet mom ;-) ) after finishing the treatment, planned to get in the Mess that is known for, in ThiruMylai after Kapali...
Wow... We couldn't find any old blue color painted door and oil-sticky mess in Mylapore opposite to Bharathi Vidya Bhavan... Instead we are greeted with a 'posh' and shining 'all-new' The Mylai Karpagambal Mess... Wonderfully renovated!!! little place but has been used to the perfection... Neverthless to say about food... Just Superb!
We had sambaar saadham (after all south indians ;)) and curd rice... It is a typical Tamil Curd rice with all the masala items like red chilli, mustard, curry leaves etc, in the rice and adding spice and a super taste to the CR. And the main dish is deliciously packed with a mouth-watering maanga pickle...
Overall, a very good experience for fooding in Mylapore... We had two Sambaar saadhams, one curd rice and a couple of Keera vadai... And the bill is just around 100 rs... Thinking if the same is in HSB, would have for sure touched the twice of this!!
Worth a visit and the tongue deserves this!
